The Grace Christian Counseling Center was started September 1, 1998, with the support of Crawford Street United Methodist Church, First Presbyterian Church, and Holy Trininty Episcopal Church in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Since then, Christ Episcopal Church of Vicksburg and three churches in Port Gibson, First Presbyterian Church, Port Gibson United Methodist Church, and St. James Episcopal Church, joined in support.
Grace has three offices. Two are in Vicksburg. The original office is at 1414 Cherry Street next to Crawford Street United Methodist Church. The second Vicksburg office is housed within the Good Shepherd Community Center at 629 Cherry Street. Our third office is in Port Gibson at 907 Church Street.
We use a client-centered therapy approach to treat a wide range of conditions including:
• Depression and suicidal feelings
• Anxiety disorders – obsessive-compulsive, body dysmorphic, panic, and agoraphobia
• Drug and alcohol addictions
• Self-esteem and self-image problems
• Personality disorders
• Marital and relationship conflicts
• Eating disorders
• Psychotic disorders such as bipolar illness and schizophrenia
Our counselors have office hours Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Our office will be happy to bill your insurance company. Our practice belongs to many (but not all) managed care and preferred provider health plans.
